SUSTAINABLE PRODUCTION PROCESS OF TENCEL™

TENCEL™ Lyocell is produced from sustainably sourced wood using an environmentally responsible closed-loop process.
First, the wood is chopped into small chips and softened into a cellulose pulp. This pulp is dissolved using an organic solvent, N-methylmorpholine-N-oxide (NMMO). The dissolved cellulose is then spun into fibers through nozzles, which are solidified into lyocell fibers. Afterward, the fibers are washed, with over 99% of the solvent being recycled, and then dried.
This closed-loop production minimizes water usage and chemical waste, making TENCEL™ Lyocell an eco-friendly option. The fibers are biodegradable and recyclable, contributing to a sustainable lifecycle.
